Faye Large Cox, age 90, of Knoxville, TN, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loved ones along with her loving husband of 70 years, on Saturday, December 6, 2025. She was a woman of strong faith, a devoted member of Central Baptist Church Fountain City, and a faithful participant in the Martha Sunday School Class. Faye also served with dedication in both local and state leadership roles within the Woman's Missionary Union. After many years of committed service, she retired from Knox County Schools as the administrative secretary to the Superintendent of Schools and the Knox County Board of Education. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas C. and Bracey Needham Large; her sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Lewis Yoder; and sister, Doris June Large. She is survived by her husband, Samuel Thurman Cox; her daughter, Jenny Cox Raines; son, Samuel Thomas Cox; and daughter and son-in-law, Katy and Rusty Davis; grandson and wife, Thomas and Tiffany Raines; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth "Lizzy" Sutton Raines and Camden Thomas Raines; and niece, Alice Yoder. Faye is also survived by her husband's loving and very special siblings, their spouses, and children. The family will receive friends from 1:30 pm until 3:00 pm on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at Central Baptist Church Fountain City. A Celebration of Life service to follow at 3:00 pm with Reverend Ronald Mouser and Reverand Ande Myers officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that memorial contributions in memory of Faye be made to Hand Up for Women, P.O. Box 3216, Knoxville, TN 37927, or to Central Baptist Church Fountain City, 5364 North Broadway Street, Knoxville, TN 37918. Rose Funeral & Cremation - Broadway is honored to serve the Cox family.
