Faye Jahr Obituary
Faye Jahr of Edison, passed away September 18, 2025. She was born in New Brunswick, and was a lifetime resident of Edison.
She was a 1954 graduate of Highland Park High School and attended Berkeley where she received her AAS, she furthered her eduation by attending classes at Middlesex County college.
Her esteemed business career included RCA Global Communications, MCI International, General Electric, Lincoln Financial, Asaa, Brown Boveri, (Switzerland), and Besam, AES, Inc., (Denmark). During her career she traveled extensively and held several notable titles as: Assistant to the President, Executive Assistant, Assistant to the Commissioner of the Waterfront.
Faye was a Certified Instructor for the New Jersey Police Training Commission, First President of Piscataway Police wives, a member of N.J. Statewide Police wives, and published articles for the "Finist" a police journal, "Relay" an RCA Publication and "The Daily Home News" a local newspaper. She was a Notary Public and Author of several RCA business publications and Training Manuals, earning her many RCA Honors.
After retiring from the business world Faye became an active advocate for her neighbors attending meetings of the Edison town Council and Zoning Board, she belonged to "Whish" a study group for elders, out of Stanford University located in Palo Alto, CA. and since it's inception, was a member of the Woman's Health Initiative out of Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. She was an avid gardener and environmentalist who eventually earned the nickname "warrior"!
The daughter of the late Percy Edward Castner and Anna Gloria Manni Castner she is survived by her three sons: Joseph of Stratford, CT., John of Roseland, N.J., and Jamey of Edison, NJ., three grandsons, Joseph of Derby, CT., Johnathan of Pennsylvania, and Travis of CT., two granddaughters Christin of CT. and Rebecca of TX, also seven great-grandchildren and fourteen cousins. Faye was predeceased by her only sister, Anna Joan Castner DeFrancesco.
A private service was held preceding her entombment at Holy Cross Burial Park, East Brunswick. Memorials are of personal choice.
