Louis S. Goldstein died peacefully at home September 16, 2025 surrounded by family following a long illness. He was born January 16, 1937 to Dennis and Goldie Goldstein of New Brunswick, NJ. He graduated from Highland Park High School and went on to proudly serve in the United States Marine Corps, completing two years of active duty and many more in the Reserves. Louis married the love of his life, Joy (Haimowicz) of Highland Park, NJ on September 20, 1959. The two later moved to East Brunswick, NJ to raise their children Susan (Kohn), Steven and Deborah. He adeptly managed East Brunswick Lumber Company, a family owned business with his father-in-law and brother-in-law, where he created a steady and solid customer base. After retirement, Louis and Joy moved to Monroe Township, NJ and spent winters in Naples, Florida where they continued to form long lasting friendships.
Louis was a man of character and principle. His family was his priority and he never missed an opportunity to share in their accomplishments. He loved his Jack Daniels and enjoyed it even more when paired with a good joke and laughter among friends.
Louis is predeceased by his daughter Deborah. He is survived by his wife Joy, of almost 66 years; his children Susan and son-in-law Stuart, Steven and daughter-in-law Sherri; his six grandchildren Brandon, Garrett and his wife Janay, Dylan, and Jesse Kohn, Morgan and Danya Goldstein, two great-grandchildren Aviva and Asher Kohn; and sister Marian Auyash.
Louis will be remembered on September 18th at Anshe Emeth Memorial Temple, New Brunswick, NJ at 12pm with burial to follow at Elmwood Cemetery, North Brunswick, NJ.
