My deepest condolences to the whole family, and especially having lost our mom last year; Dan and I really empathize with such an abrupt loss. The suddeness and elapsed time for the service's arrangements to reach me prevented my attendance, which I very much regret; the Main family was always there for us upon these sad occasions, and I've always expected to respond in kind. My sincere apologies for that. I hope for the best for Mort

particularly,as it had never occurred to me that he'd ever be without Faye. Your family was a major part of our lives at the lake, and it's more than just unfortunate that life's demands in time and distance causes losing such connections; I've been to Michigan but once this year. While nothing-even time's passage-can lessen the void she leaves behind, her presence will always remain, in countless reminders of all she was to everyonre in her life, even remote former neighbors like me. I recall her helping us re-upholster my old Chris-Craft-a laborious chore-but she never hesitated to pitch in, helping make things better, simply as a matter of course. Altogether too many things tend to be accepted as a given, until taken from us-such as now-when the magnitude of the vacuum she left hits everyone privileged to have known her. As I've somehow gotten older still, it's been a revelation to me as to how much of our pasts stay with us throughout the years, and people who were integral components of those former times continue to play surprisingly current roles in daily experiences. Important people-more so than some of us may have realized even during those times-are still often prominent in our thoughts, even now. Your family will continue to reprise their roles time and time again, as good memories live on, even well after the players themselves are lost to us. All my best.

I cannot revisit my fondest and most cherished memories of growing up on Klinger Lake without the Main Family coming to mind. My heart goes out to you all. I will always remember Faye for her gentle spirit, gracious manner and the smile that those who knew her will never forget.
