Faye Nell Stone, age 88, went to be with her Lord on January 15, 2026, at Rose Place in Port Arthur, Texas.
Faye was born on March 10, 1937, in Picayune, Mississippi, to Edward Ulmer and Mildred McNabb Ulmer. Her family later moved to Port Arthur, Texas, where she graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1955.
She began her professional nursing career at Southern Baptist Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana, and continued her education at Lamar University in Beaumont.
Faye ultimately retired from Lamar University, where she served as a Clinical Instructor and Director of the Vocational Nursing Program on the Lamar–Port Arthur campus. She was deeply committed to her students and to the calling of nursing, shaping countless careers with her steady guidance and compassion.
Faye was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Billy Bob Stone; her parents, and her sister, Sue Lief.
She is survived by her children, Mark Stone and Bruce Stone and his wife, Deziree. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Nathan Stone and his wife, Hanna; Erin Stone and her husband, Tyler; Amanda Stone; Bradley Stone; and Colton Stone; as well as her great grandchildren, Emma Hughes, Carter Hughes, Cade Hughes, Everett Stone, Truman Stone, and Eva Stone. She will be fondly remembered by her sister, Jean Beavens, along with many other family members and friends.
