Faye R. Warren

Faye R. Warren, age 83, of Bristol, Va., went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, July 8, 2022, at Bristol Regional Medical Center. She was born to Henry Crayton Ridings and Bessie Waunita Ridings on March 4, 1939, in Marietta, Ga. Faye was a devoted Christian of the Baptist faith. She was a gifted musician who played the fiddle and autoharp and was an accomplished clogger and clogging teacher. She taught countless numbers of students to clog over the years. Faye was inducted into America's Clogging Hall of Fame in 2001.
In addition to her parents, Faye was also preceded in death by her first husband, David Stantley Horsley; second of husband of 29 years, Johnny H. Warren; son, Stephen Horsley; two daughters, Rebecca Horsley and Debbie Ann Plummer; two brothers, Jo Ridings and Charles Henry Ridings; and a sister, Joann Ridings.
She is survived by two sons, John Phillips and Paul Phillips and wife, Darlene Phillips, all of Bristol, Va.; two step-sons, Johnny Warren and wife, Christine, of Woodbridge Va. and Dennis Warren and wife, Jerri, of Mouth of Wilson, Va.; step-daughter, Janetta Warren Hall, of Independence, Va.; son-in-law, Daniel Plummer, of Charlotte, N.C.; four sisters, Betty Moreland, of Columbia, S.C.; Faye's twin sister, Maye Turner, of Kennesaw, Ga.; Madeline Hudgins, of Fayetteville, Ga.; and Carol Rice and husband, Steve, of Acworth, Ga.; three brothers: Carl Ridings, of Rome Ga.; John Ridings of El Paso, Texas; and Tim Ridings, of Bremen, Ga.; four grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A private committal service will be held at Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery, 5550 Bagging Plant Rd., Dublin, Va. 24084.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place
