Frederick Lewis Moore was born July 28, 1942, in Princeton, WVA. Preceding him in death were his parents, Katherine Blair Moore and Tracey L. Jamison.

Frederick has a life filled with joy and an appreciation of family. He proudly displayed pictures of members from his large family tree. Immediate and extended family meant a lot to him. He always embraced an opportunity to be with his family. At family reunions in Florida, South Carolina, West Virginia, Michigan, and Ohio, he loved to discuss and discover family genealogy.

Although he held no membership in a church, he read and studied his NIV Bible, The Holy Scriptures, and The Learning Bible frequently. He found joy and knowledge in bible study and prayer with his family and childhood friend on the phone and in person.

Frederick retired from General Motors Truck and Bus Engineering Division after 32 years. His retirement gave him more time to pursue and use his photography, freehand sketching, welding, and landscaping skills. He used these talents as a volunteer in the welding program at Columbus City Schools' former Northeast Career Center for more than five years.

For almost 60 years, Frederick was a lover and collector of African art. He had a passion for travel. Whether driving, cruising, or flying off to a new destination, he was literally on board. He visited 47 states and traveled to Central America, Asia, Europe, and numerous Caribbean Island countries. He saw travel as an adventure and a blessing to learn about people, their culture, and the history of the land.

When his sun set on Thursday, November 6, 2025, Frederick was surrounded by family. He left behind a large, loving family that includes his wife Shirley, son Fred Jr., daughter Tamiko, five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. He is missed by his brothers and sisters, cousins, in-laws, and lifelong friends.

May his soul have eternal peace and rest.
