Felicia "Pudy" Longoria Rodriguez, a beacon of love and laughter, graduated to her heavenly home on July 22, 2025. Born on March 7, 1951, in the vibrant city of
San Antonio, Texas, Pudy's life was as colorful and spirited as her birthplace. She remained a lifelong resident of San Antonio, where she also peacefully passed away, leaving behind a legacy of joy and friendship.
Pudy's heart was her family, and her love story with her beloved spouse of 56 years Carlos Rodriguez, their Love was the kind that inspired many. Together, they raised a beautiful family including their daughters Yvonne Rodriguez, Yolanda and her husband Javier Torres, Lisa and her husband Antonio Baiza, and Carla and her husband Mike Gagne, as well as their cherished daughter Blanca and her husband Jason Arollo. Pudy's role as "Mom" was one she cherished deeply, but it was the title of "Grandma" that made her eyes sparkle the most. She was the proud grandmother to 10 grandchildren Javier, Roland, Emerald, Charlie, Jayden, Sophia, Deanna, Samantha, Sylvia and Destiny. 21 Great Grandchildren and five Great Great-grandchildren, along with her adopted grandchildren Victoria, Richard, Ambrya, and Carla Rodriguez, each of whom she loved without measure. Pudy is preceded in death by her parents, Felicitas and Ramon Longoria along with her sisters and brothers.
Pudy is survived by her last and wonderful sister Julia Garcia.
A devout Christian, Pudy's faith was the cornerstone of her existence. Her relationship with God was not one of solemn whispers but of jubilant shouts and laughter. She believed the joy of the Lord was her strength, and she shared that joy through her infectious humor and the twinkle in her eye. Pudy's comedic spirit never failed to uplift those around her, and she was often the life of any gathering, turning even the mundane into a moment of mirth.
Pudy's interests were as unique and delightful as her personality. She found pleasure in the simple things, like scouring the aisles of Goodwill for hidden treasures. Each find was a victory, a small triumph that she celebrated with anyone who would listen. Dining out at her favorite restaurants was another joy, not just for the food but for the company and the stories that would unfold over a shared meal. And then there was the art of gossiping – Pudy mastered it with a loving touch, ensuring that every tale was told with a wink and a nudge, never with malice.
Her light shone brightly, and her laughter was a balm to the soul. Pudy was loving, friendly, and undeniably funny. The words that best describe her are etched in the hearts of all who knew her. She approached life with a humor that disarmed and a kindness that embraced. Pudy's presence was a reminder that life is to be lived fully, loved deeply, and laughed at often.
As we bid farewell to Felicia "Pudy" Longoria Rodriguez, we do so with smiles through our tears, knowing she would want nothing less. Her spirit remains with us, echoing in the stories we share, the memories we cherish, and the laughter that continues in her honor. She was a light that could never be dimmed, and her legacy will dance on in the lives of those she touched. Until we meet again, dear Pudy, your laughter is our guide, and your love is our comfort.
