Feliciana Rodriguez

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Feliciana Rodriguez, a loving and devoted mother and a friend to all whose lives she touched. She left us peacefully on October 13, 2024, aged 91. Feliciana was born in Bonao, Dominican Republic, on November 1, 1932, and made her home in Springfield, Massachusetts, for the past 50 years. A wise and nurturing figure, she was the cornerstone of our family, demonstrating a remarkable resilience and a spirit that was infectious to those around her.
Feliciana was a homemaker by trade, but her true expertise lay in her ability to create warmth and joy in the lives of those she loved. Her home was a haven of love, laughter, and delicious food. She was the embodiment of the saying, "The heart of a home is a mother, whose love is warm and true, and home has always been 'sweet home' with a wonderful mother like you." She was a superb cook, a talent she passed down to her daughters, Maria and Valentina, who survives her. She also leaves behind a host of family and friends who will miss her tremendously. Feliciana was preceded in death by her loving mother: Petrolina Burdiel and her three daughters: Mayra, Angeline and Milagros.
Feliciana was a pillar of strength, kindness, and positivity. Her zest for life was infectious, and her ability to handle trials with grace was inspiring. She brought a sense of comfort and peace to those around her, even in the most challenging times. She had an uncanny ability to find happiness in the small things, a quality that made her a beacon of light in our lives. As Helen Keller once said, "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart." This was truly a sentiment that Feliciana lived by.
A viewing for Feliciana will be held at Puerta Del Cielo® Funeral Home, 730 State Street, Springfield, MA, on Friday, October 18, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by her burial at Oak Grove Cemetery of Springfield Inc., 426 Bay Street, Springfield, MA.
