Felix Eick, a beloved father, grandfather, and decorated veteran, passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at the Courtyard Health Care Center in Marianna, FL, at the age of 95.
Felix was born in Tartu, Estonia, on October 5, 1929, to Salma and Gustav Eick. As a young boy, he and his mother, along with his sister, moved to the United States, where Felix soon enlisted in the U.S. Army. He proudly served in both the Korean War and the Vietnam War, rising to the rank of Sergeant. Felix's courage and dedication were recognized with multiple medals, including a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star.
One of the most cherished moments of Felix's life was when he became a United States Citizen. This milestone was a symbol of the journey he had taken, from a young immigrant to a proud American, and it meant the world to him.
After his military service, Felix became a constant presence at the VA Clinic, volunteering his time to help fellow veterans. He was honored as Volunteer of the Year several times for his dedication and kindness.
In 1979, Felix married the love of his life, Dianna Carpenter. Together, they built a strong and loving family. Felix is survived by his daughters: Val (Jarry) Pollman and family, Holly (Sonny) Parker and family, and Zolona (Joe) Clarey and family, as well as his stepsons, Lonnie and Mario.
Felix was preceded in death by his wife Dianna, his sister Helbe Rallis, and his parents, Salma and Gustav.
Felix's passing leaves a hole in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Though we'll miss him deeply, we know Felix's legacy of service, kindness, and love will live on in the countless lives he made better. Rest in peace, Felix. You'll always be in our hearts.
