Felton Floyd Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Scot Ward Funeral Services - Conyers on Jan. 13, 2026.
We celebrate the remarkable life of Felton Thompson Floyd, who touched the hearts of many and peacefully departed on January 11, 2026, at the age of 88.

Born on September 19, 1937, in Danielsville, Georgia, to parents Calvin and Georgia Floyd, Felton later moved to Rockdale County, where he graduated from Rockdale High School. During his time there, he enjoyed playing football and building friendships. After high school, he proudly served in the Air Force for four years, demonstrating his dedication and commitment to his country. He met his wife Elizabeth in Macon, Geogia and was married for 64 years.

He will be remembered for his love of attending church, where he taught Sunday school, served as a deacon for many years, and generously volunteered his time.

Most importantly he was a dedicated grandfather, spending countless hours playing with his grandchildren. They shared fond memories of being picked up from school, going to the downtown Conyers drug store for an after-school snack, playing badminton, shooting bows and arrows at homemade targets, never being told "no" to a toy at the store, and planning his schedule around all their ball games.

Felton was predeceased by his parents Calvin and Georgia Floyd, his brother Harold Floyd, and his son-in-law Rick Green. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth Floyd, daughters Laura Green and Susan Roan, son-in-law Steve Roan, grandchildren Holly Oscarson, Heather Roan, and Will Green, great-grandson Parker Oscarson, sister Elenor Scarborough, brother-in-law Wayne Scarborough Sr., two nieces, two nephews, and will be dearly missed by extended family and friends.

A graveside service will be held on January 14, 2026, 1:00pm at Oxford Historical Cemetery.

His life inspires us to judge less, kindness matters, and actions mean more than words.
