Sara Ann Clement

Sara Ann McLendon Clement, age 90, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2026 at Dream Catcher Assisted Living. She was born on March 22, 1935, in Thomaston, Georgia. She was raised by her sister Helen, who she loved unconditionally, as their mother and father passed away when Sara Ann was very young.

Sara Ann is preceded in death by her parents, Robert O. McLendon and Jewell McCard, her husband, Billy Clement, her brother Bobby McLendon, her sister Helen Mayfield, her brother Benard McLendon and her nephew Steve McLendon.

She is survived by her sister-in-law Lillian McLendon, nephews Roby McLendon (Cindy), Donald McLendon (Teresa), Ben McLendon (Wendy), several great nieces and nephews, and her cherished friends, Johnny and Ann Smith, whose lives were all brightened by her presence.

She married Billy Clement, the love of her life, in 1955. They were married 60 years and lived a wonderful life together at their home in Henry County until Billy passed away in 2015.

Sara Ann worked for the federal government at Fort Gillem until she retired.

Sara Ann was always a caregiver and had deep love for her family and those around her. Without having children of her own, she nurtured and adored her nephew's and their families.

After moving to Dream Catcher Assisted Living, she was known for her beautiful smile, and kissing your hands when you walked into her room. She never complained. Even In her darkest hours she would say "I'm good, and as far as I know, there is nothing wrong with me, and I don't hurt anywhere." Despite the challenges of her disabilities, she embraced life with remarkable passion and determination.

A very special thanks to Dixie and her co-workers at Family Hospice, and to the staff at Dream Catcher Assisted Living, who became part of Sara Ann's family. They all adored and loved her. She will truly be missed.

Visitation will be held at Scot Ward Funeral Services at Green Meadow Memorial Gardens located at 699 American Legion Rd., Conyers, GA 30012, on February 17, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. A memorial service will follow in the Chapel at 2:00 pm. A Committal will immediately follow in the Gardens at the same location.
