Fern M. Hogue, 82, of Benton, IL, passed away at 2:40 am August 24, 2025 at Stonebridge Memory Care in Benton, IL . She was born October 26, 1942 in Goodfield, IL to David Frank Steward and Amy (Askew) Steward. Fern married Jerry E. Hogue on June 03, 1967 in Mount Vernon and he preceded her in death on August 31, 2006.

Fern is survived by her Daughter, Judy Hogue Igielinski and husband, Jeremy Igielinski of Carbondale, IL; Four Granddaughters, Sarah Hogue, Amanda Overton and husband Brandon, Marcia Hogue and fiancé Matt Padua, Amy Rainey; Grandson, Douglas Rainey; Sister, Anne Mae Southerd; Great-grandchildren, Madi Overton, Eli Overton, Brison Overton, Bence Prusacki, Buffy Padua, Aiden Hudson, Ellis Smith, Noah Rainey; .

In addition to her husband Fern was preceded in death by her Brother, Leonard Steward of Mount Vernon, IL, Sister, Linda Tate, brother-in-law Noel of Mount Vernon.

A Visitation will be held at Hughey Funeral Home Friday, August 29, 2025 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm with Ryan Casey. Interment will follow at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens in Mount Vernon, IL.
