Ronald Dean Pressgrove

Ronald Dean Edward Pressgrove, 82, of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 5:09 A.M. on August 21, 2025 at his residence. He was born on February 18, 1943 in Mt. Vernon, Illinois to the late Ed and Juanita Pressgrove. Ron married Lynn Young on April 7, 1973 and she preceded him in death on October 13, 2024.

Ron is survived by his children, John Pressgrove and wife Kayla, Scott Ross and wife Linda, Ryan Pressgrove and wife Jodi and Rodney Pressgrove; grandchildren, Kellan Bush, Darcey Ross, Emma Ross, Riley Pressgrove and wife Lydia, Rilan Pressgrove and girlfriend, Lexi Trout; great grandchild, Jacob Aaron Hunsell; sisters, Shirley Pressgrove and Brenda Dare; several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sister, Marilyn Rice and brother-in-law, Marvin Dare.

Ron owned and operated Pressgrove Construction along with his dad for several years. In later years he was Maintenance Director for Mt. Vernon District 80. He was a member of Logan Street Baptist Church. Ron always made sure his family knew how much he loved them.

A Visitation will be held at Hughey Funeral Home on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. and Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 P.M. on August 30, 2025 at the funeral home. Rev. Alan Smith will officiate. Interment will follow at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn, Illinois. Memorials may be made in Ron's honor to Logan Street Baptist Church Building Fund in Mt. Vernon, Illinois.
