Fern (Jones) Hollin, of Crothersville, passed away peacefully at her residence on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at the age of 90. Born on May 6, 1935, in Clay County, Kentucky, Fern was the beloved daughter of Chester and Alberta (Hubbard) Jones.
Fern was a resident of Crothersville for over 40 years. She worked at the Shirt Factory, H.O. Canfield, Panasote in Seymour, and ultimately retiring from Holm Industries in Scottsburg. Her work ethic was matched only by her dedication to her faith, as she was a member of the Redemption Pentecostal Church of God in Austin.
Fern's legacy is carried on by her loving family, who were the center of her world. She is survived by her children, Michael Wayne (Connie) Hollin of Seymour, Darl Glenn (Sandy) Hollin of North Vernon, Terry Joe (Penny) Hollin of Crothersville, Mary Etta (Gary) Hollin Hardgrove of Austin, Judy Faye Hollin Perry of Brownstown, adopted granddaughter, Tamara (Larry) Sawyer. Fern's sister, Mary Ester Jones Bearshear Howard, Ethel Marie (Barrett) Bradley, Lois (Geer) Bradley, half-brother, Alvin (Vickie) Bradley, and daughter-in-law, Maria Hollin, also survive her. Fern's joy was multiplied by her 13 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great-grandchildren, and several step great-great-grandchildren, all of whom will cherish countless memories of their beloved matriarch.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Herbert Hollin, her son, Herbert Hollin, Jr, son-in-law, Bill Perry, and her siblings, Preston Jones, Luther Jones, Bob Jones, Eddie Jones, Maggie Jones Smith, Arie Jones Shelton, Ruby Jones, as well as 6 grandchildren. Each of them held a special place in her heart, and she carried their memories with her always.
The funeral service honoring Fern's life will be held at 12:00 Noon on Monday, October 27, 2025, at Buchanan Funeral Home in
Austin, Indiana, with Rev. Jeff Mullins officiating. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during visitation from 10 am to 12 noon on the day of the service at Buchanan Funeral Home. Fern will be laid to rest at Crothersville Cemetery in Crothersville, Indiana.
She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Always a happy lady and loved everyone. She loved her Pastor, brothers and sisters in the Lord.
