Fern M. Walch

Fern (Fernanda Tolari) Walch, 102, of Waterford MI, formerly of Southfield, MI and Spring Hill, FL, died on February 11, 2026.

Born on January 15, 1924 in Italy, she lived a remarkable life that spanned more than a century. Through times of great challenge, change and growth, she remained a steady presence of strength, kindness, and wisdom to all who knew her.

Fern was the beloved wife of the late Anthony P. Walch. She is survived by her loving children Marcia Walch Bawol, Michael (Joyce Keller) Walch, Mary (Daniel) Wisniewski, Monica (Andrew) Tracey, and Matthew (Jacqui) Walch. Fern was the proud grandmother of Joseph (Wendy) Walch, Jeffrey (Shannon Riley) Walch, Michael (Kathleen) Walch, Adam Bawol, Brian (Emily) Bawol, Aaron (Laura Palotie) Bawol, Bridget (Suraj Nambudiri) Wisniewski, Max (Heather Graham) Wisniewski, Carly (Mark) Austin, Connor Walch and proud "Nona" to Branden, Genevieve, Tess, Cora, Etta, Lyla, Jonas, Vincent and Lincoln. She was predeceased by her son Mark (Kathleen) Walch, granddaughter Caitlin Walch Tracey, and brother Joseph (Laura) Tolari.

The Walch family will receive guests on Sunday, February 15, 1-8 pm, at the funeral home, with a 7 pm Rosary.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, February 16, 10 am (in state 9 am) at the Lourdes Chapel, 2300 Watkins Lake Rd., Waterford.

Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield.
