Mrs. Fernanda Vieira Medeiros

Pawtucket – Fernanda V. (Vieira) Medeiros, 79, passed away on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Antero Medeiros. Born in Furnas, Sao Miguel, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Manuel Capela and Maria (Vidal) Vieira.
Fernanda immigrated to the United States in 1967 and settled in Rhode Island after a brief stay in Fall River, Massachusetts. She worked as a cook in the dietary kitchen of Mount St. Rita Health Centre, Cumberland, prior to retiring in 2008. Fernanda was a fan of the New England Patriots and enjoyed watching the games with her family. She was an amazing cook and loved spending time with her family and always made sure you were not (as she would say) "UNGRY".
She is survived by six children, Antero "Manny" Medeiros and his wife, Karen, of Muse, FL, Peter Medeiros of Pawtucket, John Medeiros and his wife, Gail, of North Providence, Phoebe Medeiros of Pawtucket, David Medeiros of Pawtucket and Michael Medeiros and his wife, Marcia, also of Pawtucket; eleven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three siblings, Carlos Vieira of Pascoag, Jose Vidal of Bermuda and Alice Sousa of Sao Miguel and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Joseph and Manny Vieira and Esmeralda Morais.
Her funeral will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. directly at the chapel in Mount St. Mary Cemetery, 661 Prospect St., Pawtucket. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket.
