Fletcher Ray (Buster)Harris Jr., 96, was born on June, 4, 1926 in Antlers, OK. to Fletcher Ray Harris, Sr. & Teresa Lorilla (Roberts) Harris.
Buster was reunited with his wife Lorene and sons Randy and Johnny on April 14, 2023. He went to sleep at his home in Daisy, OK and woke up in Heaven.
Buster graduated from Stringtown High School once he returned from serving in the United States Army in WWII where he was in the 325th Glider Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division. Upon returning home in 1945 he was selected to serve in the Honor Guard Company and marched in the Victory Parade in New York City.
Buster attended Eastern Oklahoma State College and then received his bachelor's degree from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. He later attended East Central University where he obtained his master's degree.
On May 21, 1950 Fletcher married Margaret Lorene Pedigo in McAlester, OK. Buster and Lorene were members of McGee Valley Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for over 40 years.
Buster then taught a total of 37 years at Roberson, Daisy, and Stringtown Public Schools where he retired as the elementary principal for Stringtown School in 1984.
Buster's favorite time was spent with his family on summer vacations in Branson and spending deer season at Happy Hollow with the men. He liked playing dominos, hunting, fishing and many other outdoor activities.
Buster is survived by his daughter Raylene and husband Gerry Burleson of Sherman, TX, Daughter-in-law Patty Harris of Stringtown, Daughter-in-law Beverly Harris of Stringtown; Grandchildren: Jason Harris of Stringtown, Shelly and husband John Lance of Tushka, Mandy and husband Joe Tapley of Stringtown, Kyle Harris of Denison, TX, Matthew Burleson of Edmond, Jenna and husband Justin Bowen of Tushka, Rami and husband Stuart Slakey of Sherman, TX, Connor Harris of Stringtown; Great-grandchildren: Koby Harris and wife Hailey, Kale Harris, Trevin Wainwright and wife Hanna, Tenley Wainright, Ella and Axton Tapley, Fletcher and Crew Slakey, and Lincoln Harris; Great-great grandson Kade Harris; Sister Patsy Fuller and husband Frank of
Houston, TX, Brother Gene Harris and wife Audrey of Wentzville, MO, along with many other relatives and dear friends.
Buster is preceded in death by his parents Fletcher Ray Sr. & Teresa Harris; Wife Lorene Harris; sons Randy and Johnny Harris; Siblings: Gloria Miller, Annamae Weaver, Donald Harris, and Judy Strait.
