Dr. Flordeliza Villafuerte

Dr. Flordeliza Villafuerte passed away peacefully on October 7, 2025, after a courageous six-year battle with lymphoma. She had just celebrated her 86th birthday surrounded by a large gathering of her dear friends and longtime colleagues. A dedicated pediatrician, Dr. Villafuerte devoted more than 50 years of her life to caring for children and supporting families with compassion, wisdom, and kindness. Her patients and peers alike will remember her for her gentle spirit, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to her calling. Beyond her medical career, Flordeliza had an adventurous heart and a deep love for traveling the world, experiencing new cultures and places with joy and curiosity. She was a devoted sister to her siblings and is survived by her beloved sisters Ofelia and Rosalinda, as well as many nieces and nephews who adored her. To her countless friends from both her profession and her community, she will always be remembered as a kind, generous, and inspiring presence. Her legacy of compassion and dedication will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
A Memorial Mass will be held in her loving memory on October 18 at 10:00AM at the Ascencion of our Lord Catholic Church, 1S314 Summit Ave, Oakbrook Terrace, IL 60181. Following the service, family and friends are invited to a reception at Maggiano's Restaurant, 1847 Freedom Dr, Naperville, IL 60563.
