Florence Eleanor Benyo

Age 97, fell asleep in death on April 14, 2021. She was the beloved wife of the late Stephen E. Benyo for 60 years. She is survived by her children Loren Dawn of Tucson, Arizona; Deborah Berwyn (Mark Smith) of Nashville, Tennessee; and Stephen W. Benyo (Margareth) of Pittsburgh; grandchildren Nicole Belechak (Joe), Stephen L. Benyo (Kristen) and Alexander Benyo (Leah); and several nieces and nephews.
Florence, a secretary for Lappe Supply prior to raising her family in Greentree, lived for the last 20 years at Brookdale Mt. Lebanon. She was one of Jehovah's Witnesses for more than 60 years, most recently as a member of the South Hills Congregation.
An accomplished cook, Florence particularly enjoyed preparing Italian dishes and seafood specialties. She liked listening to music -- especially polkas and songs from the 1940s. She loved to adorn her home with butterfly, hummingbird and moose decorations. She maintained a raised-bed garden until this year and was an enthusiastic participant in exercise classes. Her friends and family will miss anticipating each day how she would coordinate her colorful outfits and jewelry.

Friday April 16, 2021 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 17, at Jefferson Memorial Park at 12:30 p.m., with a Zoom memorial service to be held on a date to be announced.
