Steve Richard Benyo Sr.

Steve Richard Benyo, Sr. passed in peace on September 19, 2024 at the age of 85. He was born to Steve and Sophia (Wolan) Benyo on February 19, 1939 in Wheeling, WV. Steve was a 1958 graduate of Triadelphia High School. After high school, he joined the US Air Force serving from November 1958 to May 1962. He enjoyed life and his time on the golf course at Oglebay Park where he not only played but, also proudly maintained the greens. He enjoyed working with his hands making wooden rocking horses and small toys for his grandchildren.
Steve is survived by his children: Steve Benyo, Jr., Renae (Bill) Fleming, Stephanie (Michael) Hayslett, Jeremiah (Jordan) Benyo, Sarah Gill, Joshua Benyo, and Jacob Benyo, grandchildren: Anissa Fleming, Braxton Fleming, Kaleb Hayslett, Hunter Hayslett, Connor Hayslett, Nova Benyo, Sophia Gill, Jahleel Benyo, Aevry Benyo, sister, Virginia "Ginger" Burek, great granddaughters: Zetta Messer and Gemma Hoover and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
In addition to his parents, Steve is preceded in death by his brother, Carl Benyo and sisters: Marcella (Jean) Wyatt and Barbara Benyo, son, James Kiley Benyo and granddaughter, Kinsey Fleming.
Steve requested family and friends gather to share a drink, laughter and stories to celebrate his life. Please join Steve's family for this Celebration of Life on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at 1:00 PM in the downstairs of the Elm Grove Eagles.
