Florence Bond Obituary
Florence was raised in Minaville, where she attended school in a one-room schoolhouse from first until eighth grade. She went on to graduate from the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School with the class of 1943.
On July 4, 1943, Florence was united in marriage to Duncan E. Bond, with whom she shared 63 years until his passing on January 22, 2007.
Florence devoted herself to raising her family, until her sons were teenagers. After the boys moved out of the house, Florence went on to work at Montco Sportwear for over 20 years, until her retirement in 1988.
Florence leaves behind her seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Aside from her parents, Michael and Catherine, and her husband Duncan, Florence is also preceded in passing by her sons, John and Robert Bond; as well as by her sisters Mary Menge and Eleanor Deay.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at 11:00AM at the Maple Avenue Cemetery, Fultonville, where she will be laid to rest with Duncan. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Fort Hunter Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 181, Fort Hunter, NY 12069. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY.

I only knew Florence at her time at Hillcrest Springs. She was a wonderful and kind woman, I loved spending time with her and listening to her talk about her family but her love for her late husband. She is with him now I like to believe and that is true peace. Rest now Florence.

My favorite memories of going to her home was always being offered either a creamsicle or a root beer float popsicle.... no matter what the season was they always seemed to be in the freezer.
