She was educated at St. Paul's Lutheran and 1950 East Aurora HS. After graduation she went to work as a bookkeeper until her marriage. Over the next 20 years, Flo joined Don as he served in the US Army. Living in KY, Germany (Gräfenberg), Fort Leonard Wood MO., Fort Bragg (Liberty) NC., Fort Belvoir VA, Germany (Frankfort A/M, München), Granite City IL.
She was co-owner of Glossop Roofing and Siding until it was dissolved. She served as cookie mom, assistant leader and leader for her children Girl Scouts and Boy Scout troops. Flo was a member of St. Lukes Lutheran Church, VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Tiger Club Ladies Auxiliary, West Suburban Military Officers Assn., and Fox Valley Military Assn. which she served as treasurer and President.
Survived by five children: Vickie (Robin) Cahill-Myers, Cynthia (Gary) Parker, Tracy (Shirley) Cahill, Michael (Susan) Cahill, Colleen (Ed) Arnold; two step/nine grandchildren: Erica (Brad) Eller, Paul K. Grove, Andrea (Corey) DeMaria, Brandon (Megan) Cahill, Tad Lang, Wayne Cahill, Adam Cahill, Virgina (Marcus) Shamblin, Paul (Lauren) Cahill, Derek (Kelsey) Cahill, Corinne Cahill (Sem Garay); 2 step/8 great-grandchildren: Isaiah (Reagan) and Nathan (Fern) Eller, Anthony and Jake DeMaria, Hayden Cahill, Logan and Cole Cahill, Gavin and Adalay Cahill, Theo Shamblin. Ward: Wendy Poppel-Schach. And many nieces, nephews and grand-nieces/nephews
Flo is preceded in death by husband Don, parents Charles and Helen Glossop, sisters: Lynn Meyer and Lorry Schnack, brothers Robert (Bud) and Charles (Chucky) Glossop; and ward: Gudrun Shoup.
Visitation will be held Saturday August 24, 2024, 10AM at St Luke's Lutheran Church, 63 Fernwood Rd. Montgomery, IL. Service will be held right after at 11AM. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery, 414 N River St, Montgomery, IL.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer, Heart or Cancer research
