Florence Ries Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Christy Funeral Home - Millville on Nov. 17, 2024.
Florence M. Ries, of Millville, NJ, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 16th, 2024. Born in New York, NY, Florence moved to Millville, where she built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Florence dedicated many years to being a school bus driver with the Sheppard Bus Company, where she was known for her warm smile and kind heart. Driving children safely to and from school was more than a job for Florence; it was an opportunity to make a difference and touch the lives of young ones in her community.
In her personal life, Florence found joy in the simple pleasures. She loved reading and watching TV, treasures which allowed her to escape into different worlds. She also enjoyed the great outdoors, often camping and spending time at the campground. One of her favorite activities was going on drives in the convertible with her husband, Carl T. Ries, creating lasting memories together.
Florence was preceded in death by her loving spouse, Carl T. Ries, Sr., and her daughter, Julie Wilson. She is survived by her devoted son, Carl T. Ries II, and his wife, Boran Yi Ries. She leaves behind a legacy of love with her grandchildren: Richard Wilson, Joshua Ries, Griffin Ries, and Bo Armstrong. She is also survived and will be sadly missed by her sister Georgia Hopeley, nephew David Hopeley, and niece Debbie Hopeley.
A viewing to honor and celebrate Florence's life will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2024, from 10:30 to 11:30 am at Christy Funeral Home, 11 West Broad St., Millville, NJ. A prayer service will begin at 11:30 am, followed by interment at Greenwood Memorial Park, Millville, NJ. Memories of Florence and condolences for her family may be shared on the tribute wall.
