Florence P. Stankiewicz

Florence P. Stankiewicz, 101 passed away on September 3, 2025. She was the widow of Frank D. Stankiewicz who died January 20, 1995. They were united in marriage at Sacred Church in Taftville and were married for 50 years.

She was born in Norwich on June 22, 1924 the daughter of Arthur and Marie (Raymond) Bibeau.

Florence attended Sacred Hearth School in Taftville, N.F.A. in Norwich, and Commercial School.

She retired from The Thermos Company of Norwich after twenty years of employment. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Taftville, a member of The Rosary Society and The Ladies of Ste. Anne where she helped make pork pies yearly and acted in their French plays.

Florence was past President of The 050 Club at SS. Peter and Paul Church in Norwich. She loved to paint, knit, and crochet to give to her many relatives and friends. Florence was an avid world traveler and visited many parts of Europe.

She is survived by a son, Donald Stankiewicz and his wife Suzette, a daughter Mary Szostak and her husband Thomas, six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, Florence was predeceased by a daughter Joan Dignoti and her husband James, six siblings and spouses Demery and Lucienne Bibeau, Armand and Helene Bibeau, Yvonne and Hermies Faucher, Alice and Pat Morrissette, Irene and Gerry Bourdon, Madeline and Frank Bazinet.

Visitation at Godere-Guillot Funeral Home in Taftville on Monday, September 8, 2025 at 9:30AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart Church in Taftville at 11:00AM. Burial to follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Norwich.
