Floriano T. Rebelo, 73, passed away peacefully on August 3rd, 2024, after fighting a long battle of deteriorating health. He was born in San Miguel in the Azores on April 16th 1951 to Floriano Borges Rebelo and Maria de Lourdes Serafine Tomas Rebelo. He served in the army in the early 70's in Angola during the Mozambiqan War of Independence. He moved to America in 1975 and resided in Stoughton Massachusetts until 2016. He worked for the Stoughton Department of Public Works for many years, working for the water department for a couple of years before retirement. Upon retirement he moved to Texas with his wife where he spent the next 7 years.
He is predeceased by his parents and four siblings. He is survived by his wife Amalia Theodorides Rebelo, two sons; Neil and wife Laura, and Paul Rebelo their children, Evan, Mia, Tyler, and Samantha, stepson; Steve and wife Lais, stepdaughter, Christina and husband RJ, three grandchildren; Ted, Kamryn and Olivia, three older step granddaughters Duda, Pollyanna, and Heloise. He adored his grandchildren very much. He is also survived by seven siblings and their families, many nieces and nephews and their families, and quite a few cousins, his ex wife Rosalia Costa Rebelo, and many friends.
He was very involved for many years in the Portuguese National Club, and Club Luis de Camoes in Stoughton Mass. He was most recently a member of the Brenda Button Mills Senior Center in Little Elm, Texas where he leaves behind friends as well. He will be cremated through Mulkey-Bowles-Montgomery Funeral Home in Denton, TX.
Celebration of life is hoping to be held in Massachusetts at a later date.
