Florice Dorothy Luithle December 31, 1931- September 9, 2025
Florice Dorothy Luithle passed away peacefully in Hudson, Florida, having lived a life that was as full as it was fulfilling. Born on the last day of 1931 in Baxley, Georgia, Florice graced this world with her presence, bringing joy and steadfast faith to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Florice was a graduate of the Andrew Jackson High School class of 1950. Her aspirations led her to Springfield, Missouri where she attended Business School at Central Bible College and honed the skills that would serve her well throughout a distinguished career in the banking industry. Spanning an impressive 42 years, Florice's professional journey took her from the position of Teller to Loan Officer to Loan Manager to that of Branch Manager and ultimately to the role of Assistant Vice President of Security Federal Savings And Loan in Chardon, Ohio leaving a legacy of excellence that persisted long after the institution transitioned to First Merit. Later in life Florice was the treasurer for 23 years of the nonprofit organization Hispanic Project 2000, ltd which funded new churches and ministers amongst the Hispanic population.
Her dedication to work was matched only by her devotion to family. While attending Central Bible College Florice was courted by Lloyd Luithle and in 1953, they were married creating a legacy of love and mutual respect that lasted until his passing in October 2008. Fortune smiled upon her once more when she found love again in her marriage to Oscar Fraley in January 2011, until his passing in December 2023. She leaves behind a treasured family: David (Kathryn) Luithle, Mark (Betsy) Luithle, Daniel (Melissa) Luithle, six grandsons, two granddaughters, six great-grandsons, and three great-granddaughters, as well as several nieces, a nephew, and many great and great great nieces and nephews, and sister-in-law Eileen Coffin. Her sisters and their spouses, Verna Jean (Carl) Bennett and Charlotte (Vernon) Branch, preceded her in death, but their memories remain enshrined in the hearts of those who loved them.
A devout Christian, Florice lived her faith through action. She was an integral part of the Hambden Congregational Church and extended her charitable spirit to various organizations. Her leadership and compassion were evident in her involvement with the American Business Association, her local Chamber of Commerce in Ohio, the Fraternity of Eagles Club Ladies Auxiliary Officers, and Hispanic Project 2000, ltd, amongst many others.
Described by those who knew her as loving and faith-filled, Florice's life was a reflection of the biblical teaching, "Let all that you do be done in love" (1 Corinthians 16:14). It is with the love that she so freely gave, we remember Florice today-a woman whose legacy of kindness, faith, and community service will continue to inspire us all.
In the light of eternity, Florice's story does not end here. Her spirit, the very essence of who she was, continues to inspire and guide us. As we celebrate her life, let us remember the joy she found in every day, the resilience she displayed in the face of challenges, and the unwavering faith that guided her every step. Florice Dorothy Luithle's journey was one of purpose, of love unfailing, and of a life well and truly lived. May her memory continue to be a source of inspiration and comfort to all.
