A visitation for Flossie "Pug" Phillips, 96 of Lexington, Texas will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025 from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings. The family will be present from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 18, 2025 at the Princeton Cemetery in Princeton, Kansas. Flossie Fern (Demoret) Phillips was born on December 16, 1928 in Princeton, Kansas, the daughter of Charles William "C.W." Demoret and Viola (Souders) Demoret. She married Chester Leroy Phillips on June 1, 1946 in Ottawa, Kansas. Flossie and Chester were longtime turkey farmers for Plantation Foods. They were also members of the Blue United Methodist Church. Flossie enjoyed sewing and making blankets, dolls, clowns, sock monkeys and other stuffed animals for her family. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She and Shorty enjoyed traveling/camping together. Pug also enjoyed baking and was known for her BEST dinner rolls, homemade bread, sticky buns and pies that were enjoyed by family, friends and neighbors. She enjoyed playing croquette, cards and volleyball with the family, and mowing the large yard surrounding their home. Flossie passed away the morning of Tuesday, September 9, 2025 in Austin, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, C.W. and Viola Demoret; her husband, Chester "Shorty" Phillips; her daughter, Marylin Phillips; her son, Lester Phillips; her daughter-in-law, Kathy Phillips; her great granddaughter, Malia Wealand; her sister, Vera Phillips and two brothers, Floyd Demoret and Charles Demoret, brother-in-law. Spike Phillips, and three sisters-in-law, Dolores Demoret, Fern Demoret, and Phyllis Demoret. Flossie is survived by six children, Fernie & Earl Tyler of Topeka, KS, Judy & Mark Johnston of Green, KS, Bonnie & Dan Spellman of Clay Center, KS, Homer Phillips of Lexington, TX, Kitty & Herbert Pampell of Giddings, TX, and Rita & Harvey Schnell of La Grange, TX; daughter-in-law, Debra Phillips of Giddings, TX; twenty two grandchildren, Anita & Darren Miller of Topeka, KS, Derk Holmes of Topeka, KS, Heath Holmes of Topeka, KS, Tracy & Chris Holborn of Manhattan, KS, Troy & Bridget Johnston of Green, KS, Sandi & Chad Liby of Berryton, KS, Dustin & Melissa Spellman of Clay Center, KS, Bethany & Tanner Wealand of Hutchinson, KS, Christi & Sterling Shepherd of Wakita, OK, Cory & Joelle Phillips of Milano, TX, Mindy & Jess Miller of Milano, TX, Marsha & Jimmie Pohorelsky of Timpson, TX, Stephanie & Chris Kieschnick of Dime Box, TX, Jacob & Kaitlynn Phillips of Lexington, TX, Nick Pampell of Lubbock, TX, Scott & Rehanon Pampell of Crofton, KY, Heather Pampell of Giddings, TX, Gina & Kevin Lagrone of Kerrville, TX, Keith & Amber Schnell of Ledbetter, TX, Kevin & Kara Schnell of Giddings, TX, Randy & Kayla Schnell of Giddings, TX, and Ronnie & Semira Schnell of Bryan, TX; 51 great grandchildren; 29 great, great grandchildren; one brother, Billy Demoret of Topeka, KS, as well as several nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to the Blue United Methodist Church or to the charity of one's choice.
