Floyd passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Monday, August 26, 2024 at Hurley Medical Center in Flint, Michigan at the age of 87. He was born to the late M. Benjamin and Eleanora (Hoerauf) Appold on December 21, 1936 in Bay City, Michigan. He was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Frankenlust and was involved in the Choir, Athletic Club and was a Trustee and was on the financial committee for the finance department. He graduated from T. L. Handy High in 1955 and went on to work for Consumers Energy as a Field Leader and retired in 1991.
Floyd is survived by his wife of 39 years, Julia (Lehmann) Appold; children, Craig (Carol) Appold, Cathi (Eric) Reymore, Heidi (Kurt) Eichinger and Jill Appold; grandchildren, Kip Appold, Brett (Kelsey) Reymore, Collin Appold, Erica Reymore and Caroline Douponce; great grandsons, Walker and Casey Reymore; sister-in-law’s, Mary Lou Appold, Marilynn Appold and Leslie Kelley; brother-in-law’s, Leigh (Colleen) Lehmann, Keith (Melissa) Lehmann and Russell Lehmann and many cousins, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his former wife, Phyllis Appold and his siblings, Edwin (Melinda) Appold, Matilda (Gerhardt) Zeilinger, Ralph Appold, Robert (Alice) Appold, Loren (Carol) Appold, Wilma (Ernie) Zeilinger and Harold Appold.
Funeral Service for Floyd will be taking place on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Frankenlust. Officiating will be Pastor Dennis Matyas. The family will be present to receive visitors at Gephart Funeral Home on Tuesday, September, 3, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday at the Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Paul Ministry Center.
