Tom passed away peacefully at his residence with his family by his side on Thursday, April 11, 2024 at the age of 70. He was born on April 23, 1953 in Bay City, Michigan to the late Edwin and Malinda (Eichinger) Appold. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Frankenlust and was a former Elder. He enjoyed golfing, spending time up north at the cabin, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.
Tom is survived by his wife of 47 years, Melissa Appold; son, Andrew (Heather) Appold and their son, Tyler; daughter, Rachel Appold; sister, Dorothy Martin; brother, Gary (Linda) Appold; father-in-law, Erhardt Appold; brother-in-law, Dave (Sandy) Appold; sister-in-law, Cindy Rauschert; many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Dolores Appold and brother’s-in-law, Rick Rauschert and Tony Martin.
Funeral Service for Tom will take place on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Frankenlust with interment to follow at St. Paul Cemetery. Officiating will be Pastor Dennis Matyas. The family will be present to receive visitors at Gephart Funeral Home on Monday, April 15, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday at the Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Paul Ministry Center or your favorite charity.
