Floyd Greene, age 79, of Prestonsburg, KY, husband of Betty Hatton Greene, died Sunday, March 23, 2025 at his residence. He was born May 4, 1945 in Prestonsburg, KY a son of the late James and Alta Dotson Greene.
Floyd retired as agency manager for Floyd County Kentucky Farm Bureau, Prestonsburg, a lifetime member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Federation, and member of the Fitzpatrick First Baptist Church, Prestonsburg.
In addition to his wife, Betty, he is survived by one son, Doug (Sherry) Greene, Salyersville, KY, one daughter; Angie (Paul) Cordle, Prestonsburg, three brothers; Earl Greene, Newport, TN, Tom Greene and Harold Greene, both of Prestonsburg, three sisters; Wanda Hamilton, Somerset, KY, Phyllis Hackworth, Chicopee, MA, Regina Frye, six grandchildren; Kyle (Desiree) Greene, Krista (Rodney) Horning, Grant (Cheyenne) Blair, Lakeyn (Blake) Meade, Kaelyn (Chandler Lykins) Greene, Sydney Cordle, six great grandchildren; Lily Greene, Ella Kate Horning, Easton Greene, Emma Lyn Horning, Connor Blair, Lynlee Meade, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers, Merl, Berl, Gerald and Julian Greene, and two sisters; Juanita Meadows and Pat Sampson.
Funeral service for Floyd Greene will be conducted Thursday, March 27, 2025 at 2:00 PM in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, Martin, with Tommy Reed officiating. Burial will follow in the Gethsemane Gardens, Prestonsburg, with Hall Funeral Home caring for those arrangements. Visitation is after 6 PM Wednesday at Hall Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family ask that memorial contributions be made to the Fitzpatrick First Baptist Church, 1063 Big Branch of Abbott Creek, Prestonsburg, KY 41653
