Floyd Wayne Herold, 86, a lifelong resident of Wellington, died Friday, September 26, 2025, surrounded by his family at Mercy Allen Hospital in Oberlin. Born on August 23, 1939, in Berea, he was the son of the late Emanuel Herold and Viola (nee Putt) Knapp. Floyd was a 1959 graduate of Wellington High School.

A carpenter by trade, Floyd owned and operated F. Herold Carpentry. He was an active member of the Wellington Eagles and served on the Wellington Village Council. Floyd enjoyed attending and working at the Lorain County Fair, where he was a part of the electrical department. He raised and bred sheep for most of his life. Along with his wife, Floyd would remodel and resell homes throughout the area.

Survivors include his daughters, Beth Morrow, and Lisa (Joe) Davidson, both of Wellington; grandson, Joshua Gnandt; sister, Evelyn Klingler and several nieces and nephews. Floyd was preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary (nee Richmond) Herold, and a sister, Maimee Stevens.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date and a private family burial will take place at Greenwood Cemetery, Wellington. Expressions of sympathy may be shared online at www.norton-eastmanfuneralhome.com.
