Joseph R. Shivak

Joseph R. Shivak, 44, of Galloway and formerly of Wellington, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at his home. On May 8, 1981, Joseph was born in Lorain to Joseph A. and Marlene (Seders) Shivak. Joseph attended Elyria West High School and graduated with the Wellington High School Class of 1999. He then graduated from LCCC and Toledo University with degrees in Engineering and Computer Science.
Joe moved to the Columbus area and was currently working at Wright Patterson Air Force Base Credit Union in their IT department. While in High School, Joe was active with 4-H, and the National Honors Society. One of his true passions was gaming. Joe loved playing Poke'mon Go, building outdoor creations for wildlife, the Transformers, Sword Experience, and all things anime. He was also a dedicated Cleveland Browns Fan.
Survivors include his parents, Joseph and Marlene Shivak, of Wellington; siblings, Joshua (Kaitlin) Shivak, of Medina, and Amanda (Christopher) Mohler, of Wellington; nieces and nephews, Will, Erin, Xavier, and Killian; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Friends and family will be received on August 12, from 12-2 p.m. with a service beginning at 2 p.m. burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery with a celebration of life at the Wellington Eagles. in lieu of flowers, donation in Joe's memory may be directed to the American Diabetes Association, at www.diabetes.org.
