Lawrence "Larry" Raymond Cassidy was promoted to heaven on June 3, 2025, at Twilight Gardens Nursing Facility in Norwalk, Ohio. Born on December 28, 1951, in Painesville, OH, Larry lived a full and generous life rooted in love, service, and community. He was a devoted and endlessly proud husband, father, and grandfather-deeply loyal to his wife of 50 years, his three daughters, and his two beloved grandchildren.
Larry spent much of his life in Lorain County, Ohio, and was raised in Wellington. A 1970 graduate of Wellington High School, he was a proud percussionist for the Wellington Dukes Marching Band. After graduation, he began working at Gray Drug Store in Elyria, where he met the love of his life, Lorraine (Husar) Cassidy. They married in 1974 and built a beautiful life together.
After several years at U.S. Steel, Larry followed his entrepreneurial spirit and in 1981 founded his own technical recruiting firm, LRC & Associates. He and Lorraine raised their three daughters in Lorain, just blocks from Lakeview Beach. There, Larry cultivated a life filled with music, laughter, meaningful friendships, and service.
Larry was a deeply involved father and an active member of his community. Whether attending school concerts, chaperoning field trips, organizing block parties, or volunteering as a Band Booster, he was a constant and supportive presence. He was also a proud neighbor, front porch conversationalist, and the kind of man who helped with everything from lawn care to community events.
He was an active member of numerous organizations, including the Golden Chorus Men's Group, The Patriotic Lunch Bunch, The Lorain County Tea Party, Northeast Ohio SHRM, and various committees at Lorain Lighthouse United Methodist Church. Larry's patriotism, faith, and commitment to others were the guiding forces of his life. He cherished volunteering in his community, supporting veterans, and spending time with his family. Travel was another joy-especially their family adventures across the U.S. and to Ireland. But his favorite days were those spent in the Florida sunshine, watching his family thrive.
Larry was a lifelong survivor of epilepsy and a two-time kidney transplant recipient. Through his perseverance and positivity, he inspired all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his father Roger Cassidy, mother Vivienne (Williard), sister Connie (Weidman), and son-in-law Domingo Sanchez (husband of Amanda Cassidy-Sanchez).
Larry's legacy lives on through many cherished family and friends, including his loving wife Lorraine "Hoos" Cassidy; daughters Melissa Cassidy, Amanda Cassidy-Sanchez, and Megan Cassidy; grandchildren Isabella and Giovanni Sanchez; siblings Herb Cassidy (Jana), Patricia Biggs, and Jeff Cassidy (Teresa); and countless neighbors, colleagues, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Larry's memory may be made to causes he held close to his heart:
• Epilepsy Foundation
National Kidney Foundation
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
If you are unable to donate, please consider becoming an organ donor through Donate Life America or supporting your local veterans' organization in his honor.
A funeral and celebration of Larry's life will be held on Friday, June 27, 2025 at 4:00 p.m. followed by a light reception at Lorain Lighthouse United Methodist Church, 3015 Meister Road, Lorain, OH 44053.

Larry is now singing in Heaven. He was a devoted and talented singer and I shared space in the bass section singing Barbershop music. We shared performing in nursing homes and offering others how much we enjoyed singing. Blessings on his friends and family.

Had several years to know and worked together with Larry at the Lorain County Republican Party and the Lorain County Totally Engaged American Club. Always appreciated his enthusiasm and dedication. May the peace of the Lord be there for all family and friends during this tremendous loss to our community.

Larry was my very first friend at the Lorain County Totally Engaged Americans. Although occasionally disruptive, we had a great time exchanging ideas, engaging in activities, and,,,,,,laughing.......a LOT!!.....As I was able to interest my wife, Debbie, in attending meetings, she also came to love "Big Lar"(as I would call him!!)."Big Lar" was a constant source of enjoyment, education, and knowledge. His attendance in the early days of the club allowed him to teach me much regarding its beginnings.....I will miss him GREATLY!!
