Forrest Asci Obituary

Published by Legacy on Aug. 7, 2025.
Forrest Allen Asci, of Halifax, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 4, 2025, at the age of 91. Born in Brockton, MA, on August 12, 1933, Forrest was the youngest son of the late Fioravanti and Almira Asci. He was a loving father, brother, uncle, grandfather and great-grandfather. Forrest proudly served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. After his service, he traded military boots for work boots and built a long career as a bricklayer. His craftsmanship lives on in countless homes and fireplaces. In his later years, Forrest swapped bricks for birds and blossoms. What began as a hobby quickly turned into a beloved family tradition of raising turkeys and growing tomatoes that somehow always tasted better than anyone else's. He was a sharp-witted man who preferred straight talk over sugarcoating, often delivered with a smirk and a perfectly timed one-liner. Forrest believed in hard work, common sense, and the joy of sitting out back in the shed. Forrest is survived by his wife, Adella Asci, and his sister, Elaine Barie-Rock of Halifax. He is also survived by his five children: Edward Asci and his wife Kathy of Tennessee; Jeanne Haskell and her husband Stephen of Sandwich; Brian Asci of Tennessee; Jeffrey Asci and his wife Anita of Plympton; and David Asci of Halifax. In addition, Forrest is lovingly remembered by his three stepchildren: Thomas Nunzio of Carver, Anthony Nunzio and his wife Patricia of Halifax and Danielle Nunzio of Halifax. Forrest leaves behind a proud legacy of grandchildren and a growing army of great-grandchildren. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered-especially every Thanksgiving and tomato season. A celebration of Forrest's life will be held on Sunday, August 17 from 3-5pm at Somewhere Else Tavern, 65 School Street, Pembroke MA-Stories, laughter, and a little sarcasm are welcome. In lieu of flowers, plant a tomato!
