Frances T. Craner, age 88, of New Castle, DE, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Friday, August 29, 2025.
Born in Wellsburg, WV on February 3, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Gueatano and Mary (Abbadanza) Mazzaufo. Frances made her career as a cafeteria worker at Colonial School District until her retirement.
Frances enjoyed meeting new people and was quite social. In her spare time, she could often be found bowling, skating, and playing cards. Most of all, Frances loved spending time with her family and cherished the memories she made with them.
In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Craner II; and brothers, Ralph Mazzaufo and Thomas Mazzaufo. She is survived by her children, Bonnie Sue Craner, Teresa Liebal (Earl), and William Craner (Carolyn); siblings, Carmela "Rita" Bucy and Madeline Mazzaufo; 3 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 11 am until 11:30 am on Monday, September 15, 2025, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a memorial service will begin at 11:30 am. Inurnment will be held privately in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Frances' memory to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, 345 Bear Christiana Road, Bear, DE 19701 or online by clicking here.
