Frances E. Crouse, 101, of Fayetteville, PA, passed away on Monday, December 29, 2025, at Paramount Senior Living. Born November 21, 1924, in Antrim Township, PA, she was the daughter of the late Abraham Swisher and Theresa Davis Swisher Snyder. Her beloved husband, Samuel N. Crouse, Sr., preceded her in death on May 16, 2007.
Frances was employed as a laboratory technician at Pet-Ritz, Inc. in Chambersburg until her retirement in 1989. She was a member of the VFW Post 1599, Elks Lodge 600, and the American Legion Post 46, all in Chambersburg. Frances enjoyed traveling on bus trips to see different shows and to the ocean in the summer with her girlfriends.
She is survived by two daughters, Marlene Corwell and Robin Hamilton (husband Ray), both of Chambersburg; daughter-in-law, Wendy Crouse of Macungie; five grandchildren, Scott Corwell of Chambersburg, Holly Wrights of Chambersburg, Elizabeth Barlup (husband Josh) of Dillsburg, Benjamin Crouse (wife Amy) of Mertzville, and Tyler Hamilton (wife Kristen) of Chambersburg; and nine great grandchildren, Alyssa, Abbey and Marlee Wrights, Taylor Black, Emma Hamilton, Easton Barlop, Luella Barlop, and Nathan and Gabe Crouse. Aside from her parents and husband, Frances was preceded in death by her son, Samuel N. Crouse, Jr.; and three brothers, Harold, Charles “Swish”, and Don Swisher.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, January 5, 2026, in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202. Rev. Carl McKee will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Private interment will be in Lincoln Cemetery. Condolences and memories may be shared at geiselfuneralhome.com.
