Joseph Crouse Obituary
Joe was born on March 14, 1962, in Baltimore, MD to the late Francis William Crouse and Edwina Rosalie Sacco Crouse. He was the loving husband of 38 years to Barbara A. (Malone) Crouse.
Joe was a graduate of Randallstown High School. He then graduated valedictorian of his class with a Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Biology from UMBC. Joe started his career as a technical services specialist at BRL and finished it as a Global Director of Project Assessment for BioReliance at Merck for over 20 years.
Joe's interests were many from collecting pens, to Lego master, an avid reader, excellent at drawing and a lover of eclectic music. He was a man of faith and a member of Faith Family Church, Gamber.
Joe was both civic minded and patriotic. He was a dedicated volunteer, serving in soup kitchens and missions in Baltimore and was instrumental in the founding of the Maryland National Guard Freedom Food Pantry. He mentored students at Carroll Community College and Century High School in STEM education. Joe was also a lover of animals, especially his dogs and was affectionately known as 'Paw Paw' to his grandpets.
Surviving in addition to his wife are daughters Emily Schmidt and husband Alexander and Rebecca Crouse all of Eldersburg and sister Rosanne Hellman and husband Donald of Charlotte, NC.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville. A celebration of life service will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at Faith Family Church, 4150 Sykesville Road, Finksburg, MD 21048 with his pastor, Rev. Paul Andrews officiating.
