Frances Kay Cummings, 69, of Liberty, MS, passed away on May 31, 2025, at Southwest MS Regional Medical Center. Frances was born December 14, 1955, to Marlin "Sip" and Velma Ivey in Centreville, MS. She was preceded in death by her father, "Sip" Ivey, mother, Velma Wall Ivey, brothers Sam and William Ivey. Survived by her husband, Jerry Cummings, daughter, Kelly Toney, son-in-law, Nathan Toney, grandchildren Kailey, Cale, Aaron, Alexis, Adalyn, and Aceyn, sisters, Lorena Braud, Jo Ann Nettles, and Martha Lynn Shipley. Frances was the epitome of unconditional love, kindness, dedication, sacrifice, and hard work. Her life revolved around her grandkids. You could find her at every school game or function they had, cell phone raised high and filming. She has been cheering for the Amite School Center Rebels for decades, starting with her daughter Kelly and followed by the games of her grandchildren. She didn't just cheer for them; she cheered for everyone. Loud and proud. Kailey's friends and teammates lovingly called her Mawmaw Frances. Her loud clapping, yelling, and hitting on the bleachers will be missed forever. She also loved running the roads and was down for every outing, whether for vacation or to ride along with Kelly for one of her grandchildren's doctor's appointments. She would never miss a chance to go to Walmart or Sam's either. She loved shopping, so she would run the errands and get the groceries often. There was a very good chance you would see her at the local post office, dollar store, Liberty Nutrition, the Pig, or Amite School Center. She worked at the Liberty Nursing Home for many years and truly cared about the residents. She enjoyed making homemade desserts for them. It would make her day when they came by to thank her and compliment the dessert. She would flip through cookbooks at night searching for the next dessert to prepare. Frances' life was devoted to serving others. Always doing for her daughter, grandkids, and husband. She rarely bought anything for herself. She was always shopping for her grandkids and sending them pictures of clothes she saw on Facebook to see if they liked them. She loved getting herself a tea and 90% of the time she got one for her daughter too. Her generosity didn't end with them though; she was always smiling and willing to help anyone in need. For many years, she worked hard to raise money for the school's fall festival. She made a huge impact on Liberty, Amite School Center, and all who knew her. She was an amazing wife, mother, Mawmaw, aunt Kk, sister, and friend. Her absence will leave a void that will never be filled. Forever in our hearts.
