Frances Durrett Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, Memorial Park, and Crematory on Jun. 24, 2024.
Frances Bernice Durrett, age 73, passed from this life into eternity on June 21, 2024.
Bernice worked at Jim Walter #4 mine, where she retired after 23 years of dedicated service. She enjoyed playing softball in her early years and family vacations. This grew into watching grandchildren growing up, overnight trips with friends and family, shopping trips and just having fun with her loved ones. She was a devoted, caring and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many.
She is survived by her son Brad (Sonya), grandchildren Ashley, Jessica, Cody and numerous great-grandchildren. A brother George Battles and two sisters Nell Cooley and Trish (Steve) Hannah, numerous nieces and nephews and many close friends. She will be greatly missed, but forever in our hearts.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, from 5-7pm at Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be private and officiated by her long-time family friend and Pastor Tony Boyd.
Serving as Active Pallbearers will be James Cooley, Hopper Battles, Bo Battles, Charlie Champion, Hal Hamner and Chris Swearengin.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of West Alabama for the tremendous job they did making her comfortable at the end.
