She was born on June 30, 1938 to Francis O. and Lillian Gilkey Fogle who preceded her in death.
Oleta graduated from Our Lady's School (1952), and from Our Lady of Mercy Academy (1956), and attended the University of Louisville. After forty years of service at the University of Louisville School of Medicine, she retired as Director of Faculty Personnel for the School of Medicine in 2000. Oleta was a member of Saint Michael's Catholic Church and an Associate member of Our Lady's Church, now Good Shepherd. She was also a member of the 3-M club at Saint Michael's, the University of Louisville Retirees Club, Jeffersontown Senior Citizens and a member of the Ladies Sewing Society at St. Joseph's Children's Home.
Oleta is preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, Duane Williams, Sr.; her sisters, Lois Erwin and Carolyn McPhillips; and her nephew, Edward Schumacher.
Survivors include her son, Duane Williams, Jr. (Kathy), two grandsons, Bryan Williams and Brad Williams (Mindy); great grandchildren, Nolie Henon, Madeline Henon, Logan Bradford, Kinslee Williams, Jackson Williams and Blaize Williams; nieces and nephews Sherry Atwood (John) of Virginia Beach, VA.; Phyllis Petot (Bill), James Erwin (Holly) and Marian Ann Hendricks (Ricky) of Louisville, KY; Frank McPhillips (Cindy) of Floyd Knobs, IN, and William Schumacher (Michelle) of Mt. Washington, KY; five great nephews and one great niece; and many loving cousins.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, November 21, 2025 at St. Michael Catholic Church, 3705 Stone Lakes Drive, Jeffersontown, KY. with burial in Calvary Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 – 7 p.m. on Thursday, November 20, 2025 at Ratterman & Sons – Jeffersontown, 10600 Taylorsville Rd. Jeffersontown, KY.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Michael Catholic Church.
