Karen Sue Simpson

Karen Sue Simpson, a beloved retired JCPS teacher passed away on Nov. 19, 2025. She was a proud lifelong resident of Pleasure Ridge Park where she graduated from in 1978, she received her Masters degree from the University of Louisville. She was passionately committed to her students at Crums Lane, Sanders and Medora Elementaries. Karen was determined and devoted in her life to make everyone she met smile and feel better about themselves. A couple people who brought her joy were her bestfriend Jan Simpson and her goddaughter Morgan Kroeplin. She lived her life in the pursuit of making the world a better place and believed love, laughter and education were the means to which that could happen. She has left behind many heartbroken people. Her loving parents, Thomas and Peggy Simpson, a sister Cathy Ramsey (Scott Lyons) a brother Thomas "Tommy" (Lisa). Beloved nephews; Joshua Thomas Whitaker and Christian Thomas Ramsey, cherished nieces; Jennifer Rockwern, Sarah Elizabeth Wellman and Christina Simspon as well as great nieces and nephews. Karen will be greeted in heaven by her brother Ronnie Simpson and niece and nephew Christopher Simpson and Caitlin Ramsey. Karen's life will be celebrated on Saturday, December 6, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill UCC, preceded by a memorial visitation from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
