Frances Gates Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Nicoles Funeral Home on Mar. 12, 2026.
Frances M. Gates, 95, of Soap Lake, Washington, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on February 27, 2026, in Soap Lake. She was born on January 13, 1931, in Belfair, Washington.

Frances lived a life grounded in faith, love, and devotion to her family. Her strong belief in God guided her throughout her life and was evident in the kindness, patience, and compassion she showed to others. She found great joy in serving the Lord and being part of her church community, where she was very active and formed many lasting friendships.

Frances also spent time working as a teacher's aide, a role she truly enjoyed, as she loved helping and encouraging young students. She had a gentle spirit and a caring heart, always willing to offer support, prayer, or a kind word to those around her.

She is lovingly remembered by her children, Gordan Gates, Barry Gates, and Becky Blackburn; and by her cherished grandchildren, A.J. Bercier, Kenny Bercier, Angela Blackburn, Alicia Blackburn, and Bryan Blackburn. Her family was a great blessing in her life, and she took immense pride in watching them grow.

Frances was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Avery Gates; her son, Gary Gates; her daughter, Ruth Bercier; and her grandson, Wesley Bercier.

Those who knew Frances will remember her unwavering faith, her warm smile, and the love she freely shared with family, friends, and her church. Her life was a reflection of her faith, and she leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and devotion to God.

While her family will miss her deeply, they find comfort in knowing she is now at peace in the presence of the Lord. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Service will be held in Adna, Washington on March 14,
