Frances Hardiman McDonnell of Edison, New Jersey passed away on June 4, 2024 at the age of 78 years old. Mrs. McDonnell was born on February 22, 1946 to the late James and Naomi Hardiman. She was born in Jersey City and she attended Sacred Heart Academy in Hoboken, NJ.
On July 18, 1964, she married the love of her life, Patrick J. McDonnell. In 1969, they moved to Edison with three of their children and a fourth was born in Edison. Together they raised four loving children: Patrick, Michael, Thomas, and Michele.
Frances was a member of Edison Elks Lodge 2487 Ladies Auxiliary where she held many positions such as President, Trustee and was a member of the veterans committee for many years.
She loved bingo and going to Atlantic City and Parcs Casino in Pennsylvania with her five closest friends.
She is predeceased by her eldest son Patrick, her brother James, sisters: Maureen McNamara, Eileen Di Mascio, and Rosemary Dressler.
Frances is survived by her sons: Michael J. McDonnell, and his wife, Marjorie, of Sewaren; Thomas J. McDonnell and his wife, Katherine, of Chico, CA; her daughter, Michele Tomasino, and her husband, Peter, of Edison; her four grandchildren Brittany, Danielle, Petey and Kelsey; her great granddaughter Stella and many nieces and nephews.
The Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 9, 2024 from 4pm to 8pm at Costello-Runyon Funeral Home, 568 Middlesex Ave. (Rt. 27) Metuchen.
The Funeral will take place on Monday, June 10, 2024 at 10:15 at at the funeral home followed by an 11:00am Funeral Mass at St. Matthew the Apostle Church, Edison.
