Frances Iris (Manlief) Mitchell, age 97, of Indianapolis, passed away on February 19, 2026. She was born on September 3, 1928, in St. Paul, Indiana, to Albert R. and Martha A. (Reed) Manlief, both of whom preceded her in death. Frances was a 1946 graduate of St. Paul High School in Decatur County, Indiana, and a 1949 graduate of St. Vincent Hospital School of Nursing in Indianapolis. She retired from Community Hospital East in 1990, where she worked as a Registered Nurse. Frances served as an Elder at the Greenwood Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by her sons: Michael D. and David W. Mitchell; two grandchildren: Kenneth D. Mitchell and Kaitlyn M. Bruce; as well as two great-grandsons.

Frances is also preceded in death by her brothers: Scott K. and Neil R. Manlief.

A visitation will be held Thursday, February 26, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. at Singleton & St. Pierre Funeral & Cremation Services, 7602 Madison Ave., Indianapolis. Burial will follow at Van Pelt Cemetery in Waldron, Indiana.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Greenwood Presbyterian Church, 102 W. Main St., Greenwood, Indiana, 46142.
