Frances Edwards Moseley

AHOSKIE, NC - Frances Edwards Moseley, affectionately known as Fran, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2025, at ECU Health Roanoke Chowan Hospital in Ahoskie, NC. Born on May 8, 1933, in Northampton County, North Carolina, she lived a fulfilling 92 years dedicated to family, faith, and her home.
Fran was the cherished daughter of Fannie Maude Edwards. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Hughlette "Hugh" Moseley, Jr.; her mother, her brothers, Bill and Jimmy Edwards; and her sisters, Gracie Hunsicker and Josie Abbot. She is survived by her devoted sons, William Glenn Moseley and wife Deborah of Panama City, FL, Gregory Wayne Moseley and wife Mary Anna of Bear Grass, NC, and Garry Allen Moseley and wife Patty of Washington, NC. Her legacy continues with her grandchildren; Neil, Chrissy, Kellie, Marissa (Eric), and Sara; and great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Ryan, Sammie, Levi, and Sawyer. She is also survived by her sister Joann Hawley, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and special friends.
A graduate of Jackson High School, Fran was a dedicated member of Powellsville Methodist Church, where she found comfort and community among fellow parishioners throughout her life. She was a devoted homemaker, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, whose warmth touched all who knew her.
Fran's interests extended beyond her deep love of her family. She was an avid Duke basketball fan and enjoyed the excitement of the game. She also found great joy in playing Bridge, an activity that provided her both intellectual stimulation and social enjoyment.
Her family will receive friends on Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service in Ahoskie, NC. A celebration of her life will follow in the chapel at noon, officiated by Rev. Walter Johnston, III. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens in Ahoskie, NC.
