Frances (Torrisi) Saracusa, 101, died peacefully at Andover Forest Post Acute Care Center on Sunday, November 30, 2025.
She graduated from Lawrence High School and received a certificate from the Boston School of Design in Boston.
Frances was an accomplished seamstress who specialized in making exquisite wedding gowns and all types of formal dresses and clothing. She worked at Internal Revenue Service for many years as a tax examiner until her retirement in 1976. She was a fifty-year thyroid cancer survivor.
She was adept at all types of crafts, sewing, drawing & crocheting. She made numerous baby blankets, afghans for family members. She continued to draw until her very last days.
She enjoyed many years of her retirement at the Surfside Cottage at Salisbury Beach. Many extended family members also had cottages in the same area including her brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Grace Torrisi who owned the house next door. She and Henry were snow birds living in Barefoot Bay in Florida for many years.
She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Henry S. Saracusa and her son, Richard H. Saracusa, her sister, Agnes E. Macaione and her brother, Charles Torrisi.
She will be missed by her daughter, Atty. Lynda L. Saracusa of Andover, her grandson, Adam Koles of Andover, her sister, Maria L. Torrisi of Methuen, daughter-in-law, Susan Saracusa of Plymouth, her granddaughter, Theresa Schille of Tewksbury, and three great granddaughters, Victoria Schille, Isabella Schille and Katerina Schille and granddaughter, Kristina Lucey of Marshfield and numerous nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday, December 7, 2025, from 2:00-4:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St.
Methuen, MA. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
