Charles R. Rigoli, 92, of Andover, passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, in the comfort of his home. Chuck was the devoted husband of the late Nellie J. (Consoli) Rigoli, with whom he shared an extraordinary sixty-eight years of marriage.
Born and raised in Lawrence, and a long-time resident of Methuen and Salisbury Beach, Chuck was the cherished son of the late Carmelo and Josephine (Milano) Rigoli. He was a proud graduate of Lawrence High School Class of 1951, where he was a member of the Essex County League varsity basketball championship teams of 1950 and 1951, playing at the Old Boston Garden. He attended Merrimack College and was a 27 year employee of Avco/Textron, Inc. as a senior sales representative, retiring in 1987.
A veteran of the Korean War, he served his country proudly and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army.
An avid tennis player, he was a 40+ year member of the Cedardale Health Club, winning numerous club championships. Later in life, Chuck discovered a passion for golf, spending countless happy hours on the course and forming lasting friendships along the way.
Chuck was a man of simplicity, humility, and generosity-a true patriarch of his family and community. After retirement, he embraced creating meaningful experiences for those around him. He was widely known for organizing gatherings that brought together family, friends, and neighbors, fostering bonds that endure to this day. Among his many contributions, Chuck proudly co-founded the Italian Open at Merrimack Valley Golf Course, an event that became a beloved tradition and a source of significant charitable fundraising.
Family was the cornerstone of Chuck's life. He treasured every moment spent with his loved ones, especially his three adored grandchildren, who brought him immeasurable joy. Feeling blessed to have two sons and a grandson, he delighted in being a girl grandpa and addressed them both as his sweetheart. For decades, the family beach house in Salisbury served as a sanctuary of laughter, love, and unforgettable memories.
Most recently, he found great happiness in forming new friendships at Atria Marland Place Assisted Living in Andover, where his warmth, kindness and jokes touched many.
Chuck is survived by his loving sons, Richard S. Rigoli and his wife Lisa of Andover, and Charles V. Rigoli of Andover; his beloved grandchildren, Christopher, Julia, and Catherine; his brother-in-law Ben Consoli and his wife, Sandy, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, Nellie, he was pre-deceased by his brothers James (Jimmy) and Joseph (Sam), and his sister Violet Leighton.
