Frances Dickson Vassey, affectionately known as "Granny Franny" to her grandchildren, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2026, in Chantilly, Virginia, at the age of 93. Born on April 17, 1932, in North Carrollton, Mississippi, she lived a life rich with faith, family, and community service.

Her journey began in the heart of Mississippi, where she was born to W.D. and Annie Dickson. Frances's life was marked by her deep commitment to her faith and community. She was an active member of Victory Gospel Church in Manassas, VA, where she served as a devoted 'Church Lady'. Her dedication to her church was profound, and she was known for her unwavering spirit and generosity.

Frances's charitable spirit extended beyond her church. She was involved in fundraising and charitable distributions, including food baskets during holidays and whenever someone was in need. Her acts of kindness touched many lives, leaving a lasting legacy of compassion and generosity.

Frances was married to Faye George Vassey, who predeceased her. She is survived by her children, William Dickson and Candy Vassey-Ward; and her grandchildren, Colby Dickson, Cristen Nelson, Rachel Jernigan, and Audrey Ward. She also leaves behind seven great-grandchildren, Mary Kate, Madison and John Thomas Nelson, Aiden, Cannon and Chase Dickson, and Cambria Jernigan.

In addition to her parents and husband she was predeceased by two brothers, Talmegge Dickson and John Dickson.
