Francis Joseph Loane, a cherished soul known for his unwavering kindness, loving nature, and thoughtful demeanor, passed away peacefully on the 30th of August, 2025, at the age of 94. Born on September 29, 1930, in the heart of Baltimore, Francis led a life that was as rich and fulfilling as the city he called home.
Francis's journey began as a young man serving his country with honor as a United States Navy veteran. His dedication to service was a testament to his character and set the foundation for a life marked by commitment and hard work. After his military tenure, he embarked on a career as a skilled plumber with Poole and Kent, where he was respected by his colleagues for his expertise and reliability.
At the core of Francis's life was his family, to whom he was deeply devoted. He was the beloved husband of Norma A. Loane for a remarkable 71 years, a testament to their enduring love and partnership. Together, they raised a family that was a source of immense pride and joy for Francis. He was a devoted father to Kathy Resch and her husband Thomas, as well as to Dominic Loane and his wife Marcy. His role as a cherished grandfather to Emily Loane was one he embraced with all his heart, taking immense pleasure in watching her grace the stage with her ballet performances.
Francis's love for his family extended to his role as an uncle, where he was a valued presence in the lives of his many nieces and nephews. His guidance and support were as dependable as they were cherished, and his influence will live on in the generations that follow.
A man of many interests, Francis was an avid Baltimore Ravens fan, his enthusiasm for his team as unwavering as his presence in the stands. His love for cooking was well-known, particularly his talent for crafting delectable ravioli during the holidays. The family's crab feasts were legendary, with Francis at the helm, ensuring every detail was perfect for these cherished gatherings.
Francis's love for life was evident in the simple pleasures he enjoyed. The joy he found in the kitchen, the excitement of a Ravens game, and the pride in his granddaughter's ballet performances were the threads that wove the rich tapestry of his life. His kind spirit, loving heart, and thoughtful nature were the hallmarks of a life well-lived, leaving a legacy of warmth and affection that will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
